Information We Collect

We Automatically Use Cookies to Learn About You

Cookies are electronic files that your computer automatically downloads when visiting our site. These cookies allow us to accurately track our web traffic by letting us know whether and when you’ve visited our site before, which parts of our site you’re interacting with, and which sites you’re coming from. It also tells us your IP address, internet browser, and your city.

You May Offer Personal Information by Commenting on Our Site

Our site has links to forums and sign-up forms where visitors can share personally-identifying information. It’s up to you whether you choose to share this information.

We Use 3rd Parties to Store and Collect Information from You

We offer various payment and donation options. Each of those transactions involves a separate company. We mainly use Stripe and Paypal, but you may see others. Any transaction using a third-party processor will provide a link where you can read their policies.

How We Use Your Information

We Use Your Info for Our Mailing Lists

We create a mailing list from the information you provide including name, email, physical address, and phone. We may use this information to keep you updated on our activities that we think you may find interesting—like fundamentally changing how we vote!

We Don’t Share Or Sell Your Information

CES does not sell or rent supporter, donor, or website visitor information under any circumstances, and we do not share supporter, donor or visitor information without prior consent except as compelled by law. This restriction applies to supporters and donors who join or donate both online and offline.

You Can Opt Out

Normally, sites automatically place cookies on your computer. But you can set your browser’s settings so that cookies aren’t collected at all or not collected for specific sites—including ours. You may also consider using a virtual proxy network.

You Can Access or Delete Your Information

We don’t retain personally identifiable information outside of what you provide via donations, newsletters, and the forum. If you wish, you may request that your information be deleted—minus information we may need to share with the IRS for our 990. To access or delete your information, just contact us. You can do so via e-mail at: contact@electionscience.org.
